At the end of the Spring Term, both boarding houses combined to visit historic York for the weekend.

This weekend the boarders visited the Ideal Home Show at Earls Court.
There were lots of free samples and makeovers galore, with poor Miss Ravn drawing the short straw when she ended up with just half her face made up!
Boarders spent the afternoon bowling and shopping in Stevenage last weekend. Miss Sanchez and her team were on top form celebrating every strike, and everyone had a lot of fun. The last of the sales proved very popular, too, with the top bargain being 15 items for £1, found in Rymans!

The boarding house has been filled with fragrance since boarders became alchemists for the day recently, when they mixed and created a range of sweet smelling bath bombs. These included orange blossom, zingy lime and relaxing lavender with clover.
The bath bombs have proved a very popular addition to boarders' bath times and a new batch will soon need to be made!

This term, PHC's younger boarders have begun to work towards the new Boarding Skills Award. This is a scheme launched by the Boarding Schools' Association which recognises many of the important soft skills learnt in a boarding setting, such as team work, leadership and compromise.
PHC is one of only ten boarding schools in the UK which are involved in piloting the scheme and Year 7 and 8 boarders have been busy tackling their first challenges with great enthusiasm.
