Princess Helena College offers an exciting array of extra curricular activities and clubs. Girls can choose to join in with these activities either during their extended lunch break or in the early evening. Most of these activities are free of charge, whilst some have an additional cost (speech & drama lessons, dance, horse riding and clay pigeon shooting for example).
From photography to public speaking, from language club to life saving and from touch typing to trampolining, there is an activity for everyone. Dance is hugely popular, with girls learning jazz, modern, ballet, Irish and tap. As you walk through the school you will see and hear a wealth of music, drama and sporting activities!
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme thrives and each year Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards are achieved by a number of girls.Other activities which build character and leadership skills include Young Enterprise Initiative, team building exercises and outdoor activity weekends.
All girls are encouraged to try something new – to find activities that they enjoy and thrive in. Equally, those girls who have a particular strength are pushed to improve their talents by enthusiastic and well-trained staff.
