Dr Michael Hooper, Head of English, recently returned from the Tennessee Williams Scholars' Conference in New Orleans, where he presented a paper on one of Williams' later plays, This Is The Peaceable Kingdom.
Dr Hooper, who was recently awarded his doctorate from the University of East Anglia, described the event as rewarding: "There were many exciting and stimulating discussions. The conference is essential for Tennesee Williams scholars and it is great to be able to make contacts and exchange ideas with the leading names in the field."
Mrs Duncan added, "It is so positive for girls to be able to see their teachers continuing with their own studies. Dr Hooper sets a great example of the value of a lifelong love of learning."
