Princess Helena College celebrated the year's achievements at the annual Speech Day.
The address by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr Mary Buchanan, and report by the Headmistress, Mrs Jo-Anne Duncan, were followed by the guest speaker, Dr Costas Markides.
Dr Markides, Professor of Strategy at the London Business School, gave a hugely entertaining speech on "The Pursuit of Happiness", complete with videos of fish, penguins and hugs.
The Special Awards were as follows:
The Crystal Whittaker Rose Bowl for achievement in GCSEs - Rachel Helman
The Work Cup - Suzanne Tsang
The Stratford Johns Award for Technical Excellence - Amy Keast
The Mary Beattie Award for self-presentation, charm, courtesy and consideration of others - Jo Thomas
The John Jarvis Award for the best overseas boarder - Minnie Chai
The Jan Slinn Cup for best boarder - Rachel Helman
The Ware Cup for pastoral care. This is voted for by Year 7 and 8 pupils. They are asked to vote for the girl who is most encouraging. For the first time ever the vote was unanimous - Alice Vickers
