Senior girls attended a fantastic concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday 8 November. It was the Schools' Prom, featuring performers from across the country, with ages ranging from 4 in an infant group to 21 in the youth choirs and orchestras. Our favourites included Scottish folk musicians and dancers, a brass band, Indian drummers and dancers, steel drums, a string quintet and a jazz ensemble called Soul Patrol. Probably the most eagerly awaited event of the evening, however, was the release of the balloons from the very top of the hall to the singing of ‘Land of Hope and Glory' in Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March No 1. A great time was had by all.
