With the school year almost at a close, we celebrated our pupils' many achievements over the year as a whole at our annual Speech Day on Saturday 26th June.
After an address by Dr Mary Buchanan, Chairman of the Board of Governors, and a Report by the Headmistress, Jo-Anne Duncan, we were pleased to welcome Carry Clubb, CEO of Actors in Industry, as our lively and informative Guest Speaker. Carry entertained us all with her life experiences - good and bad, and passed on valuable advice to pupils.
Carry then assisted Rachel Poston, Assistant Head, and Rachel Prosser, retiring Head Girl, in awarding the prizes. Bringing an end to the formal part of the day, Rachel Prosser gave a heartfelt and witty speech regarding her time at PHC.
Determined to enjoy the fantastic weather to the full, parents retired to the grounds for celebratory drinks and picnics and we were treated to an afternoon of Drama, Music and Games, followed by a delicious tea in the Rose Garden.
Special Awards were given as follows:
The Work Cup (awarded for academic excellence) - Rachel Prosser
