Music forms a vibrant and essential part of life at Princess Helena College and encompasses a wide range of activities, both formal and informal. Girls of all ages and ability are encouraged to foster an appreciation of music, to take examinations (GCSE, AS & A Level, Practical and Theory), or simply play for pleasure. Up to 60% of pupils choose to take individual instrumental or singing lessons.
There were some lovely performances by girls from Years 7, 8 and 9 at the lunchtime concert on Friday 4th December. The solos were excellent, the Flute Trio was superb and the Junior Band gave an exciting first performance. Well done to all! The informal concerts are an opportunity for girls to play to a small audience and a great way to build up performing skills.
