Following the success of the last title the Book Club read, I am pleased to say that all members of the club, along with 4 new members, came for the launch of the Spring term title.
"Creature of the Night" by Kate Thompson is the second of three that has been chosen. This book was short listed for the CILIP Carnegie Medal, the Book Trust Teenage Prize and the CBI Bistro Book of the Year Award. The book has been read by myself and various members of the English department. I believe that this title will appeal to all age groups as the main character is a 14 year old Irish boy who has a 'different' outlook on life due to his unfortunate background. Girls are encouraged to research, take notes, make posters and write book reviews for the meeting at the end of term, as there will be prizes!!
