In the second week of half-term, a group of senior girls from Years 11, 12 and 13 enjoyed a variety of activities in Paris, learning how to move successfully around the Paris métro system. As well as going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower, we were also treated to a Physics lesson within the Eiffel Tower, learning about the hydraulic lift system and the complex structure of the tower. We heard too about its usefulness as a radio station both today and during the Second World War.
We were also given a unique view of the Arc de Triomphe from the roof garden of the Vivendi Central offices where Mrs Martinelli's brother gave us an interesting insight into the role of this media company. We enjoyed visiting three renowned Art Galleries, with much valuable input from Miss Rowlands. These included the Dali gallery at Montmartre, a section of the Louvre and the fantastic Musée D'Orsay on the left bank of the Seine.
Hopefully, the girls will have been inspired to want to revisit this wonderful French capital in the years to come.
