Record A Level Results 2010

Girls at Princess Helena College in Preston achieved the best set of results in recent years at A level with 70% of all examinations being passed with A*,A or B grades. Mrs Jo-Anne Duncan, Headmistress, congratulated pupils and staff on their hard work saying “I am so pleased with all the results and particularly delighted for those girls who achieved A* and A grades.”

Head Girl, Rachel Prosser is bound for St Andrews to read Psychology after achieving 2 A*s and an A grade in her exams. Mrs Christine Miskelly, Head of Creative and Critical Thinking and of Psychology, said “We are continually aiming to challenge and stetch our pupils so they can achieve their very best. We try to instil a genuine spirit of enquiry and we are delighted that the exam results reflect this.”

Other successes for pupils include 100% A*-B results in Latin, Music, Business Studies and Psychology. In English Literature 100% of girls achieved the highest grade of A* or A at A level and AS level respectively.

100% of Year 12 girls studying Media Studies and Music achieved an A or B grade at AS level and three quarters of Maths and Further Maths candidates achieved A or B grades. Many girls in this year group have achieved excellent results, with a number achieving A grades in all four subjects.
