All of the housestaff are trained First Aiders and the school has two Registered General Nurses who are both resident whilst on duty. There is also a College Doctor who visits weekly to see boarders with appointments.
Princess Helena College has its own surgery, situated in the Main School, which offers a confidential service to all students and staff. This area has a treatment room, bedrooms for sick students and an office.
A dentist is offered to all students. Boarders are, however encouraged to remain with their existing dentist for routine care and to have check-ups during the school holidays.
Sight-testing, repairs and replacement glasses are available with a local optician if required.
All Boarders are routinely registered with the School Doctor who will oversee their medical welfare. On arrival, all new Boarders will have a consultation with the School Doctor and routine health screening (recording height and weight, urine, vision and hearing test) with the School Nurse.
