British Forces
Most members of the British armed forces are entitled to Boarding School Allowance (BSA) from the start of the academic year in which their child reaches the age of 8, until the academic year in which they have reached their 18th Birthday. Parents must contribute 10% towards boarding and tuition fees. For more information speak to Service Children's Education (SCE) or your unit administration office.
We understand the needs of service families and that you want to see your daughter in an active school with fun activities arranged at the weekend. Princess Helena College is a small, but very friendly and active boarding community.
As with all day girls and boarders, we offer flexibility. We also recognise the difficulty that some children can face when away from their parents, let alone when their parents are being sent into potentially life-threatening situations. We have a strong pastoral system and will deal sensitively and appropriately with this and any other concerns your daughter may have.
Should you be posted overseas, we can help your daughter to organise end of term transport to and from her remaining family in the UK or to her guardian.
